6:00 AM – Early Bird Gets the Worm
The day starts before the sun peeks over the horizon. As a skilled technician at 7th Generation Air Conditioning and Heating, my responsibilities begin with gathering my tools and ensuring the van is fully stocked for the day’s appointments.
8:00 AM – First Appointment: AC Tune-Up
- Arrive at a residential property in Lakewood Ranch for a routine air conditioner maintenance call.
- Perform a comprehensive inspection, cleaning the condenser coils, checking refrigerant levels, and ensuring optimal airflow.
- Provide the homeowner with recommendations for maximizing energy efficiency and extending the life of their HVAC system.
10:30 AM – Emergency Call: Frozen AC Unit
- Receive an urgent dispatch to a commercial building in Braden River, where the air conditioning unit has frozen over.
- Diagnose the issue as a clogged air filter, restricting airflow and causing the evaporator coils to ice up.
- Replace the filter, defrost the coils, and restore proper cooling to the building, ensuring a comfortable environment for employees and customers.
1:00 PM – Lunch Break and Paperwork
Grab a quick bite and catch up on documenting the morning’s work orders and scheduling follow-up appointments.
2:30 PM – New HVAC Installation
- Arrive at a construction site in Parrish to install a state-of-the-art HVAC system in a newly built home.
- Collaborate with the homeowner to determine their cooling and heating needs, factoring in square footage, insulation, and energy efficiency goals.
- Carefully mount the outdoor condenser unit and run the ductwork, ensuring proper sizing and placement for optimal airflow.
5:00 PM – Final Checks and Wrap-Up
Before calling it a day, I perform a final inspection on the day’s work, ensuring everything is operating smoothly and to the customer’s satisfaction. After cleaning up the job sites, it’s back to the office to restock the van and prepare for another day of providing top-notch HVAC service to the communities of Fruitville, Myakka City, and beyond.
